DESCRIPTION:Come learn some Cape Breton tunes with Wendy MacIsaac!\n1:45 – 3:15PMat the Canadian American Club202 Arlington St.\, Watertown\, MA\nWendy MacIsaac is a renowned fiddle player and culture bearer from Creignish\, Cape Breton who has been playing music for close to 40 years. She is recognized as one of the old-school style of players who has kept the traditional sound going\, and has a deep respect for it. Wendy is also a sought-after piano accompanist and step dancer.In addition to performing as a solo artist\, she has toured extensively with Mary Jane Lamond and in her band Beòlach. She also tours with her cousin Ashley MacIsaac\, Heather Rankin and Bruce Guthro.Wendy is in high demand for her skills at teaching the Cape Breton style of fiddling. She travels throughout North America and overseas as well as teaching from her home in Halifax.Wendy has recorded on over a dozen albums including four of her own\, three with Beòlach\, and one with Mary Jane Lamond. Beòlach‘s three albums have earned nominations for East Coast Music Awards\, Canadian Folk Music Awards\, and a JUNO award\, and they performed at the 2021 World Expo in Dubai. Wendy has also produced two albums\, one for the Katie McNally Trio and one for Saskatoon based band\, West of Mabou.The album Seinn she did with Mary Jane Lamond in 2012 won an East Coast Music\, Music Nova Scotia and Canadian Folk Award in 2013.
